An important letter from Charlotte Brontë to her publisher William Smith Williams was recently purchased by the Bronte Parsonage Museum. It was known that the letter existed, but where it was over eighty years has been unclear. The author of BrontëBlog, a comprehensive new blog about the Brontes, was first on the existence of the letter noted. This brought the owner into contact with the Bronte Society.
The letter was about eighty years ago by an American member of the Bronte Society to be purchased. Her granddaughter has now sold it.
The letter was written on January 13, 1848 in Haworth. It has it Charlotte on the reviews of her book Jane Eyre, which has just been published. She signed with her pseudonym, Currer Bell.
How much was paid for the letter is not known. Starting this weekend, the letter is on display at the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth.
Saw Branwell Bronte artist Dominic Clare is the subject selected one of his artworks. From the wood of a cypress sawn the portrait of herself that Branwell ever signed. Branwell that the subject of this artwork is not accidental: the tree that the artist used for this, got up early this year at the Bronte Parsonage. Charlotte and her husband, Arthur Bell Nicholls, the tree planted on their wedding day. Unfortunately, earlier this year that Cyprus was sick. An offshoot of the sick Cyprus has been preserved and are planted. The artwork is on display at the Parsonage.

Oakwell Hall, the sixteenth century country house in Birstall, Yorkshire, featured in a new film version of Wuthering Heights. The house is in many Bronte fans already know, Charlotte Brontë used it to describe Fieldhead in Shirley book.
Oakwell Hall plays an important role in the latest film version of Wuthering Heights. The manor was thus closed to the public last month.
The latest version of Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte's only novel, is released by ITV. Heathcliff is played by Tom Hardy (Band of Brothers), the role of Cathy has chosen newcomer Charlotte Riley. Other actors are Sarah Lancashire (Coronation Street) and Andrew Lincoln (This Life).
