Veronica Metz performed last weekend in Haworth

Veronica Metz singer of the band Anois performed last weekend at the annual general meeting of the Brontë Society in Haworth. She made the following report:

"It was fantastic to Haworth to have occurred. Most activities were held in the Baptist Church in West Lane, Haworth. Top of the church was a room where the services are normally held and who was now chartered by the Bronte Society. There were lectures, eg by Juliet Barker, a biography of the Bronte family was here and wrote the annual meeting of members held Bronte. Saturday was the Parish Church of St. Michael and All Angels held a service in honor of Patrick Brontë. This church is so opposite the Parsonage and stands on the site of the old church where Patrick himself was a clergyman.

Sunday was the concert. I sang eight songs and Maureen Peeck - O'Toole, who I know because they gave a course in literature, Bronte in Utrecht, made the introductions for each song. She has greatly deepened in the poetry of Emily and even wrote a book about. So nobody can be better than it releases. Some songs I was accompanied by a guitarist, Jonathan McDonald, the husband of Sally, who organized the weekend and it turned out to be a very good guitarist. After an hour to have rehearsed in advance we were able to play songs. The attendance was fair: 50-60 people. The concert went well, the people were very enthusiastic and we still have a lot of CDs to sell.

In the evening we had dinner with Sally and Jonathan in the Old White Lion, and if you ever come to Haworth, then I can really recommend it here. We had a previous visit to Haworth discovered that eating nothing tastes better than it! And that was another weekend Haworth. A man who sat at the front was even occur to me and said he had enjoyed so tremendously and that he would write a nice review for the new Gazette about us. So that's what I also have fun again. "

Are you curious about the music Anois made by the poems of Emily Brontë? Look at www.anois.nl . There you can listen to some tracks and order the CD.

Publisher Harper Collins clearly sees opportunities in the craze surrounding the Twilight saga author Stephenie Meyer. The book where Bella and Edward, the main characters from Twilight, both reading - Wuthering Heights - is now in a Twilight jacket reissued.

The editor writes:

Love the Twilight books? Then you'll adore Wuthering Heights, one of the greatest love stories ever told. Cathy and Heathcliff, childhood friends, are cruelly separated by class, fate and the actions of others. But uniting theme is just something stronger: an all-consuming passion That sweeps away Everything That Comes Between Them. A little death ... "My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks," said Cathy. "I am Heathcliff."

And for those who do not clear, it says on the cover of the book: Bella & Edward's Favourite Book.
