Mar February 2009

The Guardian has an overview of the top ten nuns from the literature. On the eighth spot shines as the nun who haunts the book Villette by Charlotte Brontë. The Guardian writes:
In Villette, Lucy Snowe heads to a fictionalised version of Brussels to teach in a girl's school Housed in a former nunnery which is supposedly haunted by the ghost of a young nun who broke her vows. Lucy Scorn the credulous pupils who believe the legend, but then twice, in her lonely wall ring, she encounters herself "The NUN!"
