Oakwell Hall in nieuwe Brontë-verfilming

Oakwell Hall, het zestiende eeuwse landhuis in Birstall, Yorkshire, figureert in een nieuwe verfilming van Wuthering Heights. Het landhuis is bij vele Brontë-fans al bekend; Charlotte Brontë gebruikte het voor de beschrijving van Fieldhead in het boek Shirley.
Oakwell Hall speelt een belangrijke rol in de nieuwste verfilming van Wuthering Heights. Het landhuis was daardoor de afgelopen maand gesloten voor publiek.
De nieuwste versie van Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë’s enige roman, wordt uitgebracht door ITV. Heathcliff wordt gespeeld door Tom Hardy (Band of Brothers), voor de rol van Cathy is gekozen voor nieuwkomer Charlotte Riley. Andere acteurs zijn Sarah Lancashire (Coronation Street) en Andrew Lincoln (This Life).
